Stop to Smell the Lilacs!

Finally my favourite (though shortest) season has arrived! Lilac season in Ontario! My favourite flower for their delicate blooms, full shrubs and that enticing fragrance that you just can't avoid. Of course the only downside is that depending on the weather, those beautiful blooms last only a couple weeks at best and can be hard to predict.

With our late and slow spring this year, that quickly developed into an early and intense summer, our blooms here in the country are finally in full glory but I fear it'll be a short season due to the heat wave we're currently experiencing. Nevertheless, I'm hoping to squeeze in a few kiddos for some mini shoots before they're gone for another year!

Being on maternity leave makes my photography a little less predictable as many of my best plans are sidelined due to naps, tantrums, and now teething but lilac season is one of those times when it's worth it to call in reinforcements so I can spend a little me-time behind the shutter doing what I enjoy!

So, here are a few sneak peaks of my own semi-cooperative littles which we did in a bit of a rush on our way out the door to an appointment lol.
