Welcome Back!
One thing I think most small business owners (and in particular, fellow photographers) can relate to is the challenge of staying up to date with your social media! Sometimes we spend so much energy on our art, our families, and of course for many of us - our day jobs, that we let some of the little parts of self promotion slide. In this day and age, and for me specifically, that is often social media! So even if this page seems a little quiet, it's only because I haven't reached it on my to-do list yet lol. So welcome back to our KoiBlue Photography blog :).

First up, getting the spring season started is the Barr-Klouman clan :).
This fun family of 6 invited me to do their family shoot on their property here in Mono. With beautiful views, cedar fencing and a pond that would make any Photographer swoon, it was a fantastic session. I love when clients request at-home sessions because it makes my job so much easier. Everyone (especially the littles) are more comfortable, more relaxed and more themselves in front of the lens. We met at their home on a bright and warm Sunday morning which was a great start to the day.
I loved how attentive all of these big brothers and sister were with their youngest sister, talking to her in such sweet and loving voices! And everyone doing their part to help coax some smiles from her! And all three big siblings were total naturals in front of the camera, letting me pose them and playing along politely when I told my terrible jokes lol.
And while the focus of most family sessions (even my own I confess), is the kids, it's still important to me to capture even just one or two of mom and dad together. After all, without them and their story, we wouldn't be here to capture these special memories of their beautiful family :). And a particularly special note to that, it was here at this pond and in the birch woods that their story officially began with their wedding, making this at-home session that much better!
