Tree Farms and Family

Well we're gearing up for another year of Christmas mini sessions at The Tree Farm in Mono, ON so over the Thanksgiving weekend I headed to the farm to update this growing brood's family portrait!

You may remember this session from last year as the combination of autumn colours and smoke from the bonfire made for an awesome natural backdrop.

This year we opted for a different spot on the property to change it up a bit, and lucked out with a sunny and gorgeous day which really made those yellow and oranges pop!

Watching how families grow and change over time is one of the perks of being a family photographer, and these portraits really do demonstrate why family photography is so important! You do change and a lot in a relatively short time. So slow down and freeze a moment or two in photos whenever you get the chance! As Dorothea Lange said "photography takes an instant out of time. Altering life by holding it still."

And of course, don't forget to include your furred, finned, or feathered friends in those special memories too :).
